Jarvis for Android

A voice assistant with a golden sphere and its own AI right on the phone. Here is how to install the test version from the website and what Jarvis can do.

1. Installing from the website

You need:

• Android 12or newer
• 3 GBof RAM or more (4 GB is better)
• 64-bitprocessor (ARM64) — almost every phone has one, except the most basic Android Go models
• about 1.6 GBof free space while installing: the file itself is about 640 MB, and you can delete it after installing
• about 1.3 GBis what Jarvis takes after installation (the app, its own AI and the AI’s working files)
• internetfor the download and for entering the code

Download

1. On jarvisapp.tech, tap “Android test version”, choose a participation period — 1 week, 1 month or 3 months, leave a request and transfer the contribution to the project via SBP (in rubles for now). Once it is confirmed you get a personal code like JRV-XXXX-XXXX for the chosen period — on the request page and by email. Keep it.
2. Open the website on the phone itself: via the link in the email or in the “Already have a code?” box on the website. Enter the code, tap “Download”, then “Download Jarvis for Android” — the file is about 640 MB, Wi-Fi is better. Until the code is entered in Jarvis, you can restart a broken download.

Install

3. When the download finishes, open the file — from the download notification or the Downloads folder.
4. Android asks whether the browser may install apps: “Settings” → “Allow from this source”, then “Back” → “Install”.
5. If Play Protect warns about an unknown developer, that is only because Jarvis isn’t on Google Play yet. Tap “More details” → “Install anyway”.

First start

6. Open Jarvis, enter the same code and tap “Activate”. The code is tied to this phone: one code — one phone. Your participation period starts from that moment.
7. A short introduction: language; how to address you (sir, ma’am, miss, Mr or Mrs with your surname, or by name); your city for the weather and who answers — the own AI (the default), ChatGPT or Alice. You can change all of it later in the settings.
8. Permissions — tap the buttons in the introduction; if you skip one, it is all in the Jarvis settings:
   • Microphone → “Allow” — to hear “Jarvis, …”.
   • Message briefing → “Allow” → turn on “Джарвис — сводка сообщений” (the phone shows this name in Russian) — for the briefing and the cards: who wrote, new mail, missed calls.
   • “Always listen to you?” → “Yes” (recommended), then “Allow display over other apps” — so the golden sphere can appear over any app — and “Don’t restrict battery”. On Android 13 and newer, also “Allow the ‘Jarvis is listening’ notification”.
   • Contacts, calls and location are asked later — the first time you ask to call someone or find a place nearby.

2. Participation period TEST

• 1 week, 1 month (30 days) or 3 months (90 days) — the period chosen in your request. It starts the moment you first enter the code in Jarvis, not when you transfer the money. Our server keeps the time: reinstalling or changing the phone’s clock doesn’t change it.
• The end date is in the Jarvis settings, under “Test participation”.
• Two days before the end and on the last day Jarvis reminds you, and a banner appears on the home screen with the buttons “Extend”, “Enter code” and “Review”.
• You can extend at any time: choose a new period on the website and you get a new code. Enter it in Jarvis: Settings → “Test participation” → “Enter a new code” (or on the end-of-period screen). The new period is added to what’s left — no need to download Jarvis again.
• When the time is up, Jarvis stops opening: only the “Your participation has ended” screen remains, with the buttons “Extend on the website”, “Enter a new code”, “Leave a review” and “Check again”.
• Nothing is deleted: your settings, name and data stay on the phone — after a new code everything carries on as before.

3. What Jarvis can do

How to talk

• Start with the name: “Jarvis, …” (or “Friday, …”). Without the name it is not a command — Jarvis ignores nearby conversation and movie sound. Just “Jarvis” — he answers “Yes, sir?” and waits for your request.
• Always listening when “Always listen (in background)” is on: say “Jarvis, …” in any app — the golden sphere appears on top, does what you ask and closes by itself. It doesn’t listen while the screen is off or the phone is locked (except in a car with Android Auto).
• How to answer — full screen or as a sphere over other apps: Settings → “How to answer”.
• Before a call or sending a message Jarvis asks again — answer “да” (yes).
• Left unfinished (“Джарвис, поставь будильник…” — set an alarm…) — Jarvis asks a clarifying question (“На какое время?” — for what time?) or offers options. Answer without the name; “отмена” cancels.
• Emergency: “Джарвис, помогите” (help), “мне плохо” (I feel unwell), “пожар” (fire) — Jarvis asks “Вызвать помощь?” (call for help?) and only after “да” opens the dialer with 112 — press the green call button to call.
• Jarvis’s voice is Karen: she reads news, message texts and place names aloud.

Icons around the sphere

• WhatsApp, Telegram, MAX, SMS — a tap opens a card of unread messages: who wrote (in a group — the group and the author), the start of the text and the time. Buttons: “Open chat” — straight to that conversation — and “Reply by voice”: Jarvis asks what to reply, then whether to send it (in Russian for now).
• Mail — new emails (sender and subject); a tap opens the email. Missed calls — who called. Weather — the forecast card.
• Nothing new — a tap opens the app straight away. Press and hold an icon to open the app straight away, too. Which icons fly (3 to 7) — Settings → “Icons around the sphere”.

Voice commands (in Russian)

Own AI, ChatGPT and Alice

Jarvis’s brain is its own AI right on the phone: it works out phone commands by itself. The weather, news, radio, exchange rates, Wikipedia answers and places nearby need the internet. What the own AI can’t do, Jarvis offers to ask ChatGPT or Alice (Yandex), if their apps are installed. To change the brain: “Джарвис, переключись на Алису” · “переключись на ChatGPT” · “переключись на свой мозг” (switch to your own brain) — or Settings → “Brain — who answers”. ChatGPT may not work in Russia without a VPN; Alice does.

Private chat — by invitation only

The test version includes Private chat (“Закрытый чат”) — messaging only for your own people: family, work, a school class. Messages and photos are encrypted right on the phone, and only the chat members can read them: the server passes them on sealed and can’t see what’s inside. The chat screens are in Russian for now.

• You can join only by invitation. A chat member sends you an invitation link — by WhatsApp, SMS or email. Open it on your phone and tap “Открыть в Джарвисе” (Open in Jarvis) — or, in the private chat, tap “Вступить по ссылке” (Join by link) and paste the link — then confirm that you personally know the person who invited you. There is no search and no open sign-up.
• To open it: “Джарвис, открой закрытый чат” (open the private chat) or the “Private chat” icon around the sphere (Settings → “Icons around the sphere”).
• Your own chat: “Джарвис, создай закрытый чат Семья” (create a private chat “Family”) — or without a name; then it is simply called “Закрытый чат”. To invite someone: “Джарвис, пригласи в группу Семья” (invite to the group “Family”) — Jarvis prepares a link, and you choose whom to send it to. The link works for 7 days and lets one person in.
• The name can be changed at any time, by any member: tap the name at the top of the conversation → “Переименовать” (Rename), or say “Джарвис, переименуй чат в Дача” (rename the chat to “Dacha”).

In the car — Android Auto

• Listens even with the screen off, answers with the sphere, the voice plays in the car.
• “Джарвис, где заправка?” (where’s a petrol station) → “Нашла рядом. Проложить маршрут к ближайшему?” (Found some nearby. Route to the nearest?) → “да” → the route opens in the navigator.
• “Джарвис, новости” (news) → “Включить новости по радио?” (Turn on the news radio?) → “да”.
• “Джарвис, ответь Маше: еду” (reply to Masha: on my way) — reply by voice. Jarvis doesn’t open chats while you drive.

• In the app — the “Leave a review” button: any day in the settings, under “Test participation”; two days before the end and on the last day also on the home screen; after the period ends — on the “Your participation has ended” screen.
